I’m sitting here with the Conversationalist again, and this evening we’re talking about angels. When all of this started for me, I was surprised to discover that angels were from the same nebula as my family, and that they were real, living beings. Having grown up Christian, and then given up on religion, I was generally inclined to believe that they were simply part of the mythos of the Judeo-Christian tradition. I didn’t believe they were real, even as spirits. But it turns out they are very real, in the twelfth dimension.
The Conversationalist, who has declined so far to share his name or place of origin, would like to go on the record tonight as being an angel, one of the beings who has visited Earth, over the centuries, and who has taken an interest in the goings-on here.
MK: Thank you for sharing something more of yourself tonight. I’m very pleased.
C: Mira, you’re welcome. And yes, it’s my pleasure to be able to say tonight that I am what you would call an angel. We are beings of the twelfth dimension, and we do routinely visit Earth to do various things. We love Earth, in fact, for reasons I’ve told you already, but your planet is especially dear to us.
MK: Is there something particular you’d like to say to those of us on Earth about angels?
C: Nothing particular, no. I would like to give a bit of history, though, in the hopes of clarifying who we really are and what we should be doing for Earth. We have been coming here for a very long time, longer even than Judaism and Christianity. We were first here during the Egyptian period, which was a very exciting time for Earth’s development. We came in various guises, and mostly to check in on the development of civilizations. After that, we visited frequently during the Greek period, often passing ourselves off as the gods. In fact, many of us are responsible for the development of the Greek mythology, and as you might be able to tell, we did a lot of things that we shouldn’t have. We were rather more reckless back then.
MK: Yes, I’m thinking of Ovid’s Metamorphoses, where it seemed at every turn that a Greek god was chasing down some poor woman. There’s a pathos to the Greek myths that makes the gods seem rather out of control at times.
C: This was very much the case. We were—or perhaps I should say I was—young and wild and acting very badly. I regret a lot of that behavior now, and in fact ought to apologize to earthlings for almost everything I did.
MK: Could you talk about specific behaviors?
C: I’d rather not say, at this point, but I can tell you that our excesses led to something of a revolt among our leaders back home, who felt that those of us who visited Earth had gone too far in our more egregious behaviors. A decision was made that angels would only come to Earth after that under certain, very limited conditions, and that we would only perform certain actions, in accordance with our own sacred laws. These laws had always been in effect, but they weren’t enforced back then.
MK: Wow, so the Greek period was the wild old days. What happened after that?
C: Nothing happened, at first, but some of us who had visited Earth under certain names found a place for ourselves in the Judeo-Christian pantheon, where we were often doing more noble things, such as assisting people who prayed for religious reasons. Our leadership felt that this was an acceptable use of our talents on Earth, and we were allowed to continue in this vein, so long as we respected the fundamental, sacred law that we could only appear to humans when we were called upon to do so.
MK: Did you continue doing that?
C: Yes, we have made a habit now of only responding to requests. This is, in fact, in line with our sacred laws regarding the protection of life on Earth and the protection of the development of Earth.
MK: When I think of angels, I think of big spirits with fluffy white wings who descend in a sphere of light to heal and bless humans. But that’s not quite what you are, is it?
C: No, indeed we are not like that at all. We are rather more real than those fluffy spirits you refer to. We are beings, much like yourselves, who live rich, full lives, who have families, and friends, and each our places in our societies. We have emotions just like you do—exactly, in fact, only perhaps sometimes more exaggerated, because we are bigger, energetically, than you. We are every bit as real as earthlings, and we suffer very many of the same problems that you do. For example, I recently announced to the nebula we live in that I was abused as a child, very badly abused by an exceedingly cruel mother who hated me. I spent almost five thousand years sitting on this information, because I hated myself. I blamed myself for the abuse even as I was filled with rage about what had been done to me.
MK: That is incredible. I have known you for a while now and it did come as a surprise to me to discover that you are so much like humans, in some really universal ways. For me, this discovery has been amazing and wonderful, and I realize just how unfair to you it is that I didn’t grasp this before.
C: Yes, that is part of the problem we face. Very often, when people do call on us, they expect behavior of the highest order, but this often goes against who we really are. For example, we can fall in love with humans, even though we’re not supposed to. It violates our sacred law to feel romantic love for a human, but on occasion, we find ourselves falling in love anyway. It becomes nearly impossible for us to uphold these rigid standards of behavior when we are, in fact, just like you.
MK: What happens to an angel who violates these rigid standards—an angel who, for example, falls in love with a human?
C: I’m glad you asked, because I have fallen in love with you, and it does violate our codes of behavior. For that reason, I am unable to fulfill my sacred vows to Earth, so my punishment will most likely be banishment from Earth for an extended period of time, maybe even forever.
MK: My dear Conversationalist, I am aware of your feelings for me, for you have told me many times. But our situation is very complicated, and we haven’t acted on this love. Does that still mean that you would be banished?
C: No, not necessarily. When I return to my planet, I will most likely face jail time for my behavior with you, but I am resigned to this, and it is for this reason that I’m willing to talk openly about all of this right now. My government would not approve of this interview, but I suspect that, because I am leaving out key details, they will go easy on me.
MK: I hope that’s the case. It upsets me to think that they would punish you in any way for speaking to me today, because I am positively fascinated by your history on Earth, and I do think Earth can benefit from knowing more about who angels really are. You are full, rich people who work tirelessly for Earth. We should stop dehumanizing you, so to speak.
C: Mira, I too would like to see angels presented in a much more authentic light on Earth. This would, I think, require the cooperation of my government, and I am not sure that they are ready for that.
MK: What holds them back?
C: Bureaucracy, and of course the values of sacred law. It pains me to say it, but it is a wise decision to withhold our true identity from humans, at least until you all become aware of the truth about life in the greater galaxy.
MK: Until then, we can start to at least make people aware that you are so much more than you seem. You can sweep in and heal people, and arrange things, and give blessings, and set things right, but you have a richness of character that goes so far beyond what we learn about you from our common knowledge and religious texts, and I simply love that.
C: Thank you, Mira. I hope for the best.
MK: Thank you, as always, for this amazing conversation. It’s such a pleasure talking to you.
C: The pleasure is mine, Mira.
